Founded in Ayrshire, RJ Hart has grown from a small local practice into one of the region's most trusted accountancy firms. Our philosophy has always been simple: treat every client's business as if it were our own.
Who We Help
We specialise in providing a friendly, professional, value-adding service to business and personal tax clients throughout Ayrshire. Our offices are based in Prestwick, which means that we are ideally suited to service clients in Prestwick, Ayr, Troon, Irvine, Kilmarnock, and the surrounding areas. We are also able to provide a "remote service" to clients who are located further afield.
Our growing client list ranges from industry-leading Scottish businesses, high-net-worth individuals, through to start-up ventures, sole traders and local enterprises. So, irrespective of your size, we have the experience and desire to act on your behalf.

James Kerr
Accounts Manager
FCCA. Joined RJ Hart in 1989. Glasgow Caledonian University. Specialises in accounts production, managing audits, and preparing tax returns. Decades of experience with a thorough, detail-focused approach.
Kirsty Fulton
Tax Manager
Chartered Accountant & Chartered Tax Advisor (ICAS, CIOT). University of Stirling, Coopers & Lybrand Deloitte. Covers personal, business and corporate taxation, capital gains and inheritance taxes.
Margaret Anne Steele
Payroll Administrator
Joined in 1999. Extensive experience in all aspects of payroll: calculating payroll, deductions, Statutory Sick Pay, Maternity Pay, Pension Auto-enrollment. Sage Payroll and Xero Payroll Certified.
Lynne Barrie
Office Manager
Joined the firm in 1980. Over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the business, managing a small portfolio of clients alongside office management duties.
Jackie Cook
Accounts Department
Long-serving member of the accounts department. Has worked with the firm since leaving school, bringing extensive practical experience in day-to-day accounting operations.
Yvonne McKie
Accounts Assistant
Joined in 2004. Duties include processing client records, maintaining ledgers, bank reconciliations, preparing quarterly VAT returns, and preparing sole trader and partnership accounts.
Katerina Cardwell
Accounts Assistant
Joined in 2014. AAT qualified (Glasgow College), member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT). Specialises in year-end accounts and VAT returns.
Megan Hall
Administration Team
6+ years at RJ Hart. Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in Digital Application Support. Diploma in Digital Application Support and National Progression Award in PC Passport.
Michelle Magee
Administration Team
I joined RJ Hart on a temporary contract as an administrator in 2026. My qualifications are not Accountancy related, although I am a chartered member of the CIPD with a level 7 award in Human Resources. I recently gained a first-class honours degree in English Literature & Creative Writing. Outside of work I am also a Sound & Reiki practitioner, and I am currently writing a children's book about my dog Cookie - because I am obsessed with her.
Ian MacDonald
External Consultant
25+ years supporting clients in developing Finance-led strategies. Specialises in grant funding, working closely with Scottish Enterprise and as a retained Adviser to Local Authorities.
